CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — It’s going to be dangerously hot in the Tennessee Valley for the next several days.

The National Weather Service says the heat index will reach the triple digits.

This puts the Chattanooga area into “extreme heat danger” territory.

Dade county has already announced the opening of heat shelters to help those in need.
