Long story short I'm weighing up the options on getting a recon box into the Beetle with the minimum of fuss.
The simplest seems to be via Coolair because they send the "new" unit once a refundable "surcharge" is paid, and their price includes that send ... and collection of the "old" unit once the swap has been made.
(Lead time probably about three weeks.)

So I know that each to their own when it comes to your van. I’m no purest, I was thinking of buying a VDO fuel sender and VDO fuel gauge. Basically ditching the dash fuel gauge, I’ve already got VDO gauges for pressure and temp. Anyone done this? My current gauge is not very reliable so thought I would just bypass it.
