Why is writing important to you and why do you think it’s an important medium for the world? I am a middle school teacher, and I see fewer and fewer kids who read for pleasure. I wanted to write a book that was engaging for young readers to help encourage a love for reading.

Why is writing important to you and why do you think it’s an important medium for the world? Writing is important to me because it’s entertaining. I see a problem or a conflict, and I enjoy seeing how it develops and may be resolved. Life is full of crooked pictures, mysteries, and stories are a way to explore them, both by the writer and the reader.
