Candidate filing is now open for the City of Nome’s 2026 Annual Municipal, Utility and School Board Election. Residents interested in serving in local government are able to submit paperwork through Sept. 1.

The filing period opened Aug. 7 and closes at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1. The municipal election is scheduled for Oct. 6.
