CENTERING WITH FIBER

Shelly came to weave a Tallit  (SHE TOLD ME THAT IS A JEWISH PRAYER SHAWL) and Melanie is a new to saori weaving fiber artist  and came to learn more!

Melaine loved saori so much she bought a saori CH60 loom and took home with her. after class

 In Japan  they do this technique often with T shirts where cut out fringe likr strips still attached to the Tshirt and take the Tshirt over to the loom and weave the strips with the Tshirt hanging off your weaving to one side. i decided to try it!

 susie came and learned about winding warps the saori way then make her own ready made warps. this year she came to wind a long warp (12 yards )  16" wide in the reed . then threading her " inside set" (harnesses, and reed ) when she is done she takes her inside set home and will  pop it on her loom!

 Ashley recieved for her birthday a gift of saori classes while they were visiting from out of state.

She had questions about the loom models and weaving techniques 

the second day her family dropped in and her mom tried on my green coat too and loved it. she is a avid sewer and saori handwoven fabric is wonerful to create garments with.

 Dominique,Dan,Raphael and Justine came for a 2 hour class and learned to weave and have a lot of fun
