Throughout the summer Austin ISD has hosted virtual and in-person open houses to share boundary realignment ideas to help balance the number of students at campuses across the entire district. Through these meetings and the online comment card, the district has gathered valuable feedback from community members about the drafted “Oak” and “Elm” boundary scenarios.

After careful consideration, we have decided to restore neighborhood-level bus stops for middle school students.  With the closure of Paredes Middle school and other identified savings since the adoption of the 2026-27 budget, Austin ISD has decided to apply these savings to accommodate increased transportation costs related to adding back these stops.
