I remember around 1990 I worked in the industry and hearing four channel surround. Then it was 5-channel Dolby Pro Logic, later Dolby Digital and DTS. Eventually leading to Dolby Tru and DTS-MA. Now no rentals, people stream from the TV. I left out Atmos. I believe only the true videophile and hardened home theater fan still spin discs.

GAN amp/Mytech
Here's a review of the new MyTech GAN monoblocks but what prompted me to post is what Mitchell from Mytech posted in the comments. He explains why he fells GAN is the thing that brings Class D into competition with A or A/B while letting out of the bag why prior designs fall short. CD or DVD player
I've got the basic of my new system together but I have notice one thing, my CDs do not sound as good as I remember. I'm playing them through my old Samsung DVD player. I have read that although DVD players can play CDs they might not do so as well as a dedicated CD player. I cannot find munch in the way of specifics on this yet. What are y'all's experiences with this?

Gold Note PH-10 Phono Preamp
I just received my Gold Note PH-10 yesterday and my audiophile son and I were blown away by it. It may be my best single purchase of a piece of audio gear. It is extremely musical and dynamic. The background is completely black. The sound stage seems to extend beyond the walls of my 17-foot-wide room, and it is tall and deep. Detail is fabulous and micro details are fleshed out....

Acoustic Panel Recommendations
What are your sources for acoustic paneling? I have some that I got from an office supply company that are just fabric wrapped, but I see a lot of photos where folks have very tasteful panels with wood designs like this. What are your sources for good panels?
