I know sweet FA about this stuff, but I've noticed a few forums introducing Cloudfare lately, presumably for this reason. I'm happy to cover the cost if it's not too excessive. It seems nuts that you're fighting a constant battle with this and the solution ultimately means locking down a lot of useful information.

Past week has seen an increasing number of connections from botnet/residential proxies. What caused the crash on Friday was the stats tool eating up all RAM + swap trying to process the (enormous) web log file.

Seems to be other sections acting weirdly now that I check. For example try site-wide searching "slow games", or "the".Looks like a version change in Manticore had broken updates there. Should be fixed. Note that new posts won't show up in search for ~15 minutes as that's how frequently the index updates.
