Drove up to Sunrise Point at Mt Rainier National Park to hike up to Dege Peak and as it was a beautiful day, decided to continue along Sourdough Ridge to Sunrise then back to Sunrise Point, over all 6.2 miles and 1,030 ft of gain. Drove up to the Comet Falls trailhead at Mt Rainier National Park this morning to hike up to Comet Falls and Van Trump Park, about 6 miles round trip with 2,200 ft of gain. This trail is mainly in the forest, with glimpses of Van Trump Creek, crosses several talus fields with wildflowers in bloom along the way. We drove up to Windy Pass from Hyak on FR 9070 to hike south on the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) to Tinkham Tarns, 5 miles round trip with about 1,000 ft of overall gain. This morning we had a beautiful hike through the forest in the fog.

Drove to Chinook Pass in Mt Rainier National Park just before sunrise to hike around Tipsoo Lake and the Naches Peak Loop Trail before it got hot today. After hiking around Tipsoo Lake counterclockwise, I hiked the Naches Loop Trail clockwise, 3.5 miles with 500 ft of overall gain. Lots of wildflowers in bloom. Amazing day up at Paradise in Mt Rainier National Park. I did an expanded version of the High Skyline Loop Trail, starting at 4th Crossing Trailhead, adding on a portion of the Paradise Glacier Trail, and part of the Deadhorse Trail.
